The generator is not defective
Your generator is not defective. Get some information on switching the neutral wire on your tranfer switch. Most tranfer switches only switch the two hots and not the neutral or ground. The Briggs Pro generator bonds its neutral to ground so now you have two: one on your home panel which is shared with the generator via the transfer switch and the other on the generator itself. The generator senses that not all the current is coming back to the generator and thinks there is a ground fault so it trips the circuit. You need a four pole transfer switch which will switch the neutral along with the hots. An alternative would be to buy one of those cheapie generators without GFCI so that you would only have one neutral and one ground. Hope this helps. After doing some research I see this is a common problem.
briggs 30337 generator
I got this generator for backup home use. When connecting to the house transfer switch, the gfci would trip immediately. I was able to remove the jumper that bonded neutral to frame; however, this did not solve the problem. I ordered a new 2 pole double 40amp GE breaker (non gfci) that would fit the connections (was $25 shipped online or $80 locally). After removing the gfci, this unit powered my house without issue. Unit is well built and hopefully will run flawlessly when needed. This unit is designed more for jobsite use than home backup as the gfci can be an issue unless certain steps are taken. Look for a floating neutral without gfci to make the simplest connection to the house.

DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM FOR HOME BACKUP
Brought it from CPOoutlets for home back-up. This is a defective generator by design. The GFCI would immediately trip as soon as it is connected to the 4-prong 240v outlet even without any load. Spent over $350 taking it to an authorized dealer and evaluation by an electrician. Spoke to B&G customer service and they have no clue what to do. The authorized dealer said that there is no problem and suggested to have a certified electrician look at it (charged $75 even though it is covered under warranty). My certified electrician's Honda generator worked fine on all my home circuit (through transfer switch). His is a 6500W generator and the one I got is the 8000W generator (PRO8000). He tried several things (e.g. drove a ground rod and connected it to the generator, removing jumper etc) and still it would trip without any load. He even disabled the GFCI (leaving breaker function on) and still it would trip as soon as the first load (on any circuit) is applied. My electrician spent over 5...

Wow, what can i say about this product. A lot of my friends were like, "dude this thing would last a month", well i am happy to say it has and more. My subs sound really good with this amp, I really didn't expect this thing to do a whole lot, but it hits hard. Buy this and I promise you wont regret it.

It does everything it's supposed to. I hooked up two 12" kickers to the existing stock system in my Jeep and they pound. They're so loud I had to turn the base all the way down. It's a good cheap buy for a 2 channel set up, it rocks.....5 Stars...

It is a pyramid.
I am powering two Rockford P-2s 12s and have it dropped down to the right ohms but this just doesnt seem to put that much power out. It is a inexpensive amp and I would expect big boom but would have liked to have a bit more. This product was shipped extremely fast and was packaged perfectly. I would reccommend this product for the price.

A Solid Emergency Power Source
At first the lack of reviews and some issues discussed with other models made me leery of this purchase, but after research on other sites and talking to people here in the Northeast who used their generators after the ice storms heavily, I decided on this generator and I am very pleased. The generator arrived promptly, in excellent condition, was put in my garage for me, and took me all of 15 minutes to go from in the box to running. Very questionable quality
After waiting almost a month for it to come in stock Amazon finally shipped my 30471. No problems with the delivery or the state of packaging. Once opened the box I was surprised to see that manufacturing date was January 2010 which did not give me a warm fuzzy feeling about it. Upon further inspection I have noticed that inside base of the metal fuel tank is already have early indicators of rusting. To top it off, after fueling it up almost to a full, the fuel gauge is not working and sitting at empty. A call to Briggs only added further frustration as the woman answered the phone after 20+ minute hold time (which was suppose to be only 3 minutes as per the automated system) was the nastiest, most unhelpful customer I every had with my entire dealing with any customer support line. I was expecting any minute for for her to curse me for calling the customer support. First she says she can't find anything in English on the unit and then she claims that there is no gas gauge on...

Great Generator That Got Us Through the Aftermath of Irene
This generator functioned very well when we needed it. During Hurricane Irene, we lost power. Fortunately, we had installed a generator connection sub-panel. This generator worked perfectly to give us the power we needed until our electricity was restored. The generator came well-packaged with easy to understand instructions. The wheel kit was the only thing that needed to be assembled. After attaching the negative wire to the battery and adding some oil, the machine was ready to go. After making sure that the fuel feed was in the "on" position, the generator started on the first try with the key-start. Although it is not "quiet," it is probably more quiet than other generators with similar power ratings. For the money, this is a great generator that I do not hesitate to recommend to anyone needing a portable gasoline powered generator with 8,000 watts of running power.

More than a studio or gigging amp
A few years ago my NAD power amp died after nearly 25 years of service; a good run for a fine piece of gear. Anyway, at the time my budget was very tight, so I deployed a Sansui integrated I had in the closet. That meant my Audio Research SP9II has been sitting unused--a shame because it's a fine late 80s preamp (and worth getting even now if you find one at a nice price). I recently decided to get the SP9II back in action, so I needed a power amp. But I still don't have funds for anything too pricey (meaning much above $400. Yeah, I know by audiophile standards that's petty change.) There's not a lot to choose from in that range. The little AudioSource amps get a lot of good reviews, but also a fair number of bad reviews. So I decided to check out the pro amps used by musicians and studios. Super powerful, nice form factor.
After completely blowing out 2 AudioSource amps trying to power 15 in-ceiling 6 1/2" speakers in my home, I decided to go with what the pro's use. Crown Amps have been around for a long time. They have a reputation for brutal power. When I first opened the XLS1000, I was taken back by the form factor, this unit is only about 8" deep. No need to get any power line conditioner for this unit, it knows how to deal with "dirty" and "noisy" AC lines. This unit drives my home central audio system with ease. Volume levels are only halfway up and that was enough for the 15 speakers. The unit is super quiet, and stays cool. The LED display gives you simple control of core settings. Crown has a no fault 3 year warranty on this unit.

Law enforcement authorities contend that the woman acted after striking up an online romance with a man in Nigeria. Postal Inspector Bruce Allen said he could not comment about the case, but he said reshipping scams are fairly common.
