The generator is not defective
Your generator is not defective. Get some information on switching the neutral wire on your tranfer switch. Most tranfer switches only switch the two hots and not the neutral or ground. The Briggs Pro generator bonds its neutral to ground so now you have two: one on your home panel which is shared with the generator via the transfer switch and the other on the generator itself. The generator senses that not all the current is coming back to the generator and thinks there is a ground fault so it trips the circuit. You need a four pole transfer switch which will switch the neutral along with the hots. An alternative would be to buy one of those cheapie generators without GFCI so that you would only have one neutral and one ground. Hope this helps. After doing some research I see this is a common problem.

briggs 30337 generator
I got this generator for backup home use. When connecting to the house transfer switch, the gfci would trip immediately. I was able to remove the jumper that bonded neutral to frame; however, this did not solve the problem. I ordered a new 2 pole double 40amp GE breaker (non gfci) that would fit the connections (was $25 shipped online or $80 locally). After removing the gfci, this unit powered my house without issue. Unit is well built and hopefully will run flawlessly when needed. This unit is designed more for jobsite use than home backup as the gfci can be an issue unless certain steps are taken. Look for a floating neutral without gfci to make the simplest connection to the house.

DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM FOR HOME BACKUP
Brought it from CPOoutlets for home back-up. This is a defective generator by design. The GFCI would immediately trip as soon as it is connected to the 4-prong 240v outlet even without any load. Spent over $350 taking it to an authorized dealer and evaluation by an electrician. Spoke to B&G customer service and they have no clue what to do. The authorized dealer said that there is no problem and suggested to have a certified electrician look at it (charged $75 even though it is covered under warranty). My certified electrician's Honda generator worked fine on all my home circuit (through transfer switch). His is a 6500W generator and the one I got is the 8000W generator (PRO8000). He tried several things (e.g. drove a ground rod and connected it to the generator, removing jumper etc) and still it would trip without any load. He even disabled the GFCI (leaving breaker function on) and still it would trip as soon as the first load (on any circuit) is applied. My electrician spent over 5...

Amp does not do as claimed
6000 watts nope nada no way - false advertising.Believe me I have 0 gauge wire going from two batteries - total over 2000 amps cranking output and over 200 amp hour rating and a 270 amp alternator giving 190 amps at idle with a 10 Farad Cap hooked up.I knew something wasn't right when I took the amp out of the box and saw the power block on it??? WHAT 6000-8000 watt amps with wuss power connectors and two 60 amp maxi-fuses...Explain how the laws of physics has changes where you can run that supposed amount of amperage into a connector no larger than a speaker connector?? YOU CAN NOT IT WILL MELT... I used power distribution blocks and stepped down from 0 gauge to 4 gauge and used crimp gold plated connectors to the cap and another adapter to down size the 4 gauge end so I could even hook it to the amp power block..3000x2 at 4 ohms BS; 8000 watts at 2 OHMS Bridged BIG BS..I am running a two 15" 4000 watts rated speakers in a vented box using the two Pyle...

Nice amp for the price
This amp is really a true rms 300 watt x 2 @ 4 ohm amp (true 600 watts x 2 @ 4 ohm stereo or 1200 watts rms @ 4 ohms bridged) DO NOT buy it if you think it is a 6000 watt RMS amp as it IS NOT. Lanzar chose unwisly to list it as a 6000 watt PEAK amp... a little decieving. But none the less this is a true 1200 watt amp that demands more than more factory automotive can handle. Plan on running a minimum of true 4 gauge pure copper wire and do the "big 3" upgrade. Also plan on losing some hearing if you have some good subs that can handle this amp. Awesome bass in such a small package!
I cannot put into words how much this thing surpassed my expectations. I have had smaller and less powerful bass tubes before so I expected something like those. This thing really does such a good job that people think I have a box with a couple of 12's in the trunk.I actually had a much higher end system priced out and was almost ready to pull the trigger, but I'm trying to save money (and space and weight in the car) so I begun looking into these. I like the fact that it is removeable if I want the entire trunk space available.The sound is awesome and unexpected for this size of sub/enclosure/power. It sounds great down to 30 hz which is my sweet spot in base. I highly recommend getting the remote for better control of the bass from the drivers seat. It does not have a bass boost centered around a certain frequency like they normally do, but rather a level control (like an amp gain adjust) and a low pass crossover control. Great product
My first xperience with adding a sub to any car was the bta8100, wow what difference a sub makes especially when u all ready have a decent system vette Bose, but within a couple days I knew I needed more the 10250D simply took my sound system to another level it handles any bass thrown at it and is simply fantasic with a rather small footprint. It fits perfectly behind the driver seat which still allows for the top to be put in it's carrier in the hatch and with no sound degradation. I can't say enough about Bazooka's bass tubes or there tech support I have called them 3 or 4 times questioning what I should be putting in the car for the best sound they have even called me back to talk to me about it. GREAT PRODUCT, GREAT COMPANY! Sorry for the rant but I can't say enough good about SAS CO.

Don't buy this!
Ok, so I should've heeded the advice of others on here but I was like hey, usually people complain and then when I buy it there's no problems...Well I'm sitting here with a burnt out cord and the strings/laces showing through. So I would've gave less than a 1 if possible like a -5 because this cord looks like I have a dog which I don't!Anyways, I sucked it up and purchased the cord directly from HP. I tried to go cheap and that's just what I received....cheap!Oh, btw..I had this cord for less than a month before it went south on me...

Fast and Effective
I would have to say that when my original power cord broke I thought that I was in for an expensive replacement. However, when I found this product on Amazon I figured for the price I might as well try it. The product came fast and was exactly like my original power cord. This product also has been very effective and as of now has been a top notch replacement for the price. I would have to say that, I would recommend this to any one that does not want to get stuck paying a ton to get one from HP.
