Overhead generator exhaust for RV
The product was easy to install and works well. It's very lightweight and comes in a convenient bag that slips into any RV basement storage compartment. It doesn't get too hot and it makes a huge difference for your neighbors when tailgating. I will say that it doesn't cut down on the noise as much as it claims. But overall it's a great product. One word of caution. Make sure your generator tailpipe is parallel to the ground and does not exit the vehicle on a down angle. If so, the Gen-Turi will lean way out to the side away from the motorhome. Mine was not parallel and I needed to have a short piece of pipe modified so I could install it properly.
Camco Manufacturing Inc. 44461 Gen-Turi Generator Exhaust Venting System
Easy to assemble, use and put away. lowers the sound a bit, but really keeps the smell away. Worth the price. B
Gen Exhaust as sold
Came exactly as advertised. Very easy to install with only a wrench. Glad the strap holders are both sticky back or screw mount. The price was much cheaper than anywhere else.

Setup was easy - Add Oil & Gas one pull cord and up and running
We have used over the last 3 days to power fridge, 2 fans, charge mobile phones and laptops and run a few lights. We are getting approx a run time of just over 13 hours on one tank (4 gallon) of gas. Last night even hooked up the tv and cable so our son could watch some tv. Nick, Nick, Nick, Nickeloden. :) This morning it powered the coffee maker and iron so we could be awake and wrinkle free. I really did not expect the generator to run as long as it did on one tank so very happy with the purchase. Next thing to purchase is something to cover it in case of heavy rain. Setup a tarp over table with bungee cords last night but would like something quicker to setup. If we continue to have the power outage problem here in Oak Park we may look into the natural gas generator that hooks into electric system and fails over automatically. As always we will try to get it from Amazon our favorite store. We give...

Appears to handle the task
I purchased this generator through an on line auction. After filling with oil and gasoline it started on the second pull. I also purchased a transfer switch to control six circuits (Reliance Model# 31406crk). The generator provides enough power to run my furnace, two refrigerators, a small freezer and some house lights. I would also recommend purchase of the wheel kit. I have only used this generator in a test situation. I don't know how well it will perform for an extended period or if the noise level will become annoying after an extended time.

Cost-effective Emergency Power
I bought this generator in preparation for hurricane Irene. Ordered it on Wen., it arrived on Fri., just in time to set it up before the storm (can't beat Amazon Prime!). The generator was easy to set up and started in one pull. This generator provided power sufficient to run the refrigerator, a mini-split a/c unit, TV, and a couple of fluorescent lights for two days. Under this load, a full tank (4 gallons) lasted around 12-14 hours. This unit appears to be a Chinese import so I do have my doubts about long-term reliability, never the less, the DS4000 appears surprisingly well-constructed and capable for the price. Pros: Inexpensive Easy to Operate Relatively Quiet (compared to a 22" lawn mower) Compact Easy to read fuel gauge Cons: Recommended oil change interval of 20 hours (change the oil every other time you fill the gas tank?) Oil drain obscured by frame below (as oil drains it runs along the frame and makes a...

Great generator for the money
I ordered this item recently through Amazon and am very pleased. I was leaning towards a more costly generator but finally settled on this model. The instructions for start up where easily understood and I had the unit operational in a matter of minutes. The unit runs quiet compared to other constant speed generators. I plugged my RV into the 30 amp outlet for rv applications and was able to use the AC and other electrical appliances with no problems at all. I am very happy I went this direction and not the more expensive choices.
3,000 Watt @4500 ft
Purchased this item Generator Model #46515 from Cabela's in Utah. Also purchased wheel kit for unit at same time. Brought unit home, turned over, cut off bottom of box. Now I have a cover for the unit (when it is not running and cool). 1st time startup: Followed instructions accompanying unit = did not start. 2nd time startup: After pulling start up cord 2 times, moved choke lever to 'run' position = started right up. So now I know how to start my unit: 2 pulls @ choke position ON then, 1 pull with choke OFF. Next, I applied electrical load to test capacity. Unit bogged down (sounded like it was shutting down) when I added electrical load OVER 3,250 watts total. Saw on a comment board for another generator that someone else experienced power load loss at 6500' above sea level. This is probably the case here in SLC, UT (we are at 4500' above sea level). Other than that, the unit runs with out problems (have run it about 5...

Great Bargain on a Great Generator!!
Just like me, always preparing for "the end". :) Anyhow, this is a fantastic generator!! As another reviewer stated, I put gas and oil in and she fired up on the first pull!! Remarkably quiet, runs very smooth, and everything is solid on this unit! Metal gas tank WITH GAUGE, metal gas cap, the 12v DC charge pins are a GREAT addition should you need to charge a battery while running the generator. Plenty of outlets, a V gauge, breaker switch, nice On/Off switch, the wheel/handle kit is a true bonus, and it also came with a free nylon cover for when it's put away it'll look just like new! Even the paint job is nicely done. For the money you can't beat this price, especially the shipping!! Take a look around, you will NOT find a better deal on a generator with these features. It's worth noting that the system is a 4400watt PEAK load. It will maintain a 3500watt load, and the extra 900w are to handle the occasional surge when, say, a freezer or...

A+, Great Product/Great Price
Update: 02/23/09 I have run this generator for several hours each time my home has had a power failure and it starts up and performs flawlessly. It saved my basement from flooding due to a 6 hour outage during a rainstorm over the summer! This is an EXCELLENT product for the price. Someone tried to contact me via email in February and I accidently deleted your note. Please send me another email and I will be glad to answer your questions. Sincerely, Jim Nitzberg I purchased the PowerMax 4400 for emergency use and had it running for 26 flawless hours over the last weekend. This unit has an amazing number of features (other reviews have detailed them) and is very transportable. I used it to power lights, a coffee maker and radio transmitters, and the unit is very RF quiet (this is important to radio types). I found that during break-in (the first few hours) the unit...

Cheap is Cheap!
I purchased this generator in October 2006. It started up easily and did what is was supposed to do. Ran it every other month for 15 minutes with a load. Pulled it out of the garage this past spring, fired it up with no problem but there was no electrical output. $50 later, the repair shop says it's junk as the stator is bad and it's more to replace (if you can get it) than buy a whole new generator. So, for $400 I got something that was used for less than 2 hours and it's a boat anchor. Max Tool said, "sorry, it's out of warranty". By the way, it did arrive damaged and I was sent replacement parts. Fortunate for me, I am handy and was able to replace the capacitor, etc. on my own. Otherwise, the warranty does not cover labor. Buyer beware! It surely didn't work out for me.

Ligonier planners study RV regulation

Being able to store their 31-foot-long recreational vehicle on their property is one of the reasons why residents Toni and Joe Kruithoff said they moved to Ligonier.
They and three other RV owners spoke at the borough planning commission meeting Monday night.
Council has directed the commission to come up with a list of regulations limiting the use of parked, oversized vehicles in the town after a resident complained about visitors living in a large RV parked on property off of Plum alley.
"I don't want to be restricted about having my personal vehicle on my property," Toni Kruithoff said.
The planning commission is in the beginning stages of making a recommendation to council, chairman Joe Willard said.
A subcommittee made up of commission members Dirk Matson, Terry Murphy and Patti Campbell met last week to discuss how other boroughs restrict oversized vehicles and come up with a draft of an ordinance.
Matson told the panel he hopes to have a draft ready for discussion at the next meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Dec. 19.
Some used generators to stay warm in the coldest weather in 20 years in the lower valley. "My house the other night was 36 degrees inside and we have a cat
